Endowment Fund:
Trinity is called to be a generous, gracious,
Growing in Faith and Reaching out in Love.
The Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund
provides a means for receiving and managing
income-producing gifts and distributing the
income in accordance with the desires of the
donor, Trinity's Constitution and bylaws, and
the Fund bylaws.
Gifts of $5,000 or over may be designated by the
donors as to how and to whom the income shall
be distributed. Gifts may also be undesignated,
whereby the Endowment Board determines the
recipient. All recipients must be benevolent
Christian ministries of the ELCA or its
congregations.
A five member board administers the fund and determines distributions. The Board is elected by Trinity's
congregation at the annual meeting. By including Trinity in your estate planning, your benevolence makes a
long-term positive impact on our congregation, the church, and our community.
Our church Endowment Fund supports a wide range of ministries. Each year, thousands of dollars are awarded
to youth of our church who are pursuing higher education. We also support our members who go to seminary.
Approximately $1,000 a year goes to sponsor our vibrant youth program. Our youth are leaders in the Synod.
The fund also gives scholarships to young families in need of assistance so their children can have a quality
Christian education at our preschool. Finally, we also support two homes for assisted living run by Valley
Lutheran Retirement Homes.
How to Give:
Acts 4:34-35 “There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and
brought the proceeds of what was sold. They laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any
had need.”
You can give by either contacting the Trinity Lutheran Church office or for professional assistance call the
Lutheran Community Foundation at 1-800-365-4172.
The tradition of charitable giving was part of the beginnings of the Christian Church. Trinity Lutheran Church
continues this tradition of giving in a variety of ways, one of which is giving to our Endowment Fund. Our
endowment fund provides a way for your gift to continue the charitable work of Trinity for years to come.
It doesn't require great wealth to make a gift. One hundred gifts of $100 to the Trinity Lutheran Church
Endowment Fund continue giving just as do gifts of $10,000. For more information about giving to the Trinity
Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, contact:

Gift Options:
Donors can make contributions to the Endowment Fund by a variety of methods. Gifts of all sizes and in many
forms are welcome.
Cash: A gift of cash is one way to realize your charitable objectives. Cash gifts qualify as a charitable deduction
for federal tax purposes and are fully deductible up to fifty percent (50%) of your adjusted gross income in the
year that the gift is made. Deduction amounts exceeding this limit may be carried forwards up to five (5)
additional years.
Securities: Gifts of appreciated securities (readily marketable stocks and bonds, and stock in closely held
companies) can also be given to the Endowment Fund. You can avoid the recognition of capital gains tax and
deduct the full current fair market value of the gift of securities, equaling up to thirty percent (30%) of your
adjusted gross income in the year of the gift. Deduction amounts exceeding this limit may be carried forward up
to five (5) additional years.
Bequests and Memorials: Through your will, you can perpetuate good works with a living memorial. The
Endowment Fund can be a beneficiary of all or a portion of your estate, the recipient of a specific devise or the
ultimate beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust. The value of the devise is deductible for federal tax
purposes. In addition, any funeral memorials that are contributed in your memory can be directed to the
Endowment Fund.
